Hammam Mitts & Why You Need One
Lately, I've been checking out quite a few exfoliating mitts and loving what they do for my skin. Also called Hammam mitts, these mitts have been used for centuries in Turkish and Middle Eastern baths. Known for their intense scrubbing abilities, they are sought after to help exfoliate and reveal new, healthy skin. Meant to be used in a specific way, Hammam mitts offer a way to give you skin that you haven't seen since you were a baby.
You don't use a Hammam mitt like any other bath scrubby. It's important that you begin the exfoliation process by either taking a steamy shower or soaking in a tub for a bit. Once your skin is thoroughly moistened by the steam or from soaking, use the mitt to take long strokes in one direction along your limbs. There is no need to add, and you shouldn't add, any kind of soap or oil to the glove. The gloves are made of specific materials that remove the top layer of skin evenly. Be sure to rinse your glove after a few strokes to make sure that dead skin cells aren't impeding the exfoliation.
Afterwards, rinse your skin and continue your regular cleansing. You'll find that your skin texture is instantly improved and that your skin now has a renewed glow. This kind of exfoliating also helps improve the flow of oxygen to the skin, which leads to healthier more radiant skin. If you suffer from ingrown hairs, regular treatments will reduce the amount of ingrown hairs you have to contend with. Your after shower moisturizing treatments will also work infinitely better, with no dead skin cells blocking their absorption.
And while it won't fix the problem, I've been really pleasantly surprised by how well it makes those of us with those annoying red bumps on our arms, keratosis pilaris, which become much less noticeable and feel so much smoother. At first, I thought it was just me, but then after talking to a few people using the Come Clean Mitt, we were all at the same conclusion. This mitt works wonders.
While there are a few of them on the market, the Hammam mitt by Come Clean is definitely one of the best I've tried. Its exfoliation powers are serious, so if whether you are timid or robust with your exfoliation habits, start slowly. Oh, and please don't use it on your face. It's definitely too harsh for the skin on your face.
It's a little on the pricey side at $40 (in CAD, $38 US), but it will last for a long time and your skin will thank you. Pick it up and tell me what you think!

The Best Eyeliners for Summer 2013
Right now, I'm all about playful liners. Different shapes and layered colors are going to make your summer looks sizzle. Before we get to the liners, be sure to prep your lids with a good primer and put a soft nude shadow on your lid to prevent your liner from sticking to the top part of your eye.First, you are going to need a great base liner in black. It should be waterproof, very black and long lasting. My favorites are Urban Decay's Perversion and Eddie Funkhouser's Graffiti Pencil.
The only liner that truly stays on the waterline is Dalton's Black Cream Liner. My waterline is liner-resistant and this is the only one that actually lasts.
Bright liners have been popular in the summer and this year is no different. However, instead of bright, glimmering shades, look for creamy, matte brights. It doesn't get any more perfect than Stila's Smudgestick Turquoise. Grab this one while you can, as it's not the easiest to find. Since it now seems to be almost impossible to find, check out the lovely Barrow Street from NARS. It's a beautiful matte seafoam. You just don't see that every day! I'm also currently waffling on picking up UD's Woodstock (Electric Pink) or Freak (metallic seafoam). Don't overlook Sephora's liners for inexpensive matte liners, too!
Consider switching up your lined looks by layering two shades of blue together, like Urban Decay's LSD and Stila's Turquoise. Or go for a bronze look and opt for Hustle from Urban Decay (or the Sephora semi-dupe, Flashy Brown) and layer with a bright gold, like MUFE's Gold 9L.
Finally, try lining your eyes with glimmering nudes to make your irises really sparkle. I can't get enough of Chanel's Silver Light, Make Up For Ever's Gold 9L and Urban Decay's Yeyo.
Fast, simple and so pretty!

If you aren't following me on Facebook, you missed my favorite products of Spring 2013 countdown. So here it is in one easy place. Just so you know, not all of these products were released in the last three months. Instead, they are my favorite discoveries of the last three months. Did your favorites make the list?
Applying this twice a day makes a real difference in your lips. It's not cheap, but it feels so luxe you won't mind.
Best palette of the spring. I am still using this every day (almost) and I'm not even close to being bored. I normally don't look at the style cards, but these are actually really inspiring! (Maybe I should go back and look at the older palette cards?)
I don't write about Clinique often, but when I do, you know there must be a reason. This stuff is great.
I love this as a highlighter for days you need to glow. It also works brilliantly under foundation as a highlighter for days when you want to look luminous without sheen. It's like a light bulb for your face. (Me-Ow. That's sexy!)
It's beautiful. So beautiful. There is nothing else to know.
This liner is gorgeous. Matte pastel liners that wear well are next to impossible to find. I'm not shocked this is sold out almost everywhere. It's worth the hunt. If you can find it, pick it up!

This Tonic Lotion is great to spray on bangs in the morning or when you just need to touch them up quickly. Sure, it was created for men, but the tingle and the nutrients keep me coming back. Here's a thought. Lately, I've been getting a lot of comments on how fast my hair is growing. I'm not taking any supplements, but I wonder if this elixir makes my scalp super happy?
Do I even have to remind you about this one?
This color wears forever, is hydrating and doesn't feather. It's perfect for spring (and summer!)
I hate products that make my hair feel sticky or unclean. This gives hold and body, without any feeling of stiffness or stickiness. (Trust me. I'm still in that OCD phase of not using anything that makes my hair feel like anything other than what I assume Lea Michelle's hair must feel like in those ads.)
